Dear Exhibitor:

The Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Craft Show Committee invites you to apply for participation in the 2014 Mt. Zion Craft Show.  This is our 29th annual show.  All proceeds of this show benefit church and local women’s and children’s ministries.

Applications from new crafters are reviewed and accepted on a first come basis beginning February 1st.  You are encouraged to submit your application as soon as possible since certain categories fill up quickly. All crafters must submit a completed application in order to be considered for acceptance into the show. Please carefully review the entry requirements; failure in complying will result in having your application returned to you.

This year the show will be on Friday and Saturday, November 7th and 8th.  It will begin at 9:00 AM and close at 5:00 PM on Friday. Saturday’s hours are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  The church will be open Thursday, November 7th, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM for set-up.  SET-UP MUST BE COMPLETED ON THURSDAY BY 8:00 PM;  NO SET-UP IS ALLOWED ON THE DAY OF THE SHOW.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

1.         All applicants must submit 3 close up photos of the work you will be displaying and one of your booth set-up. 
2.         Enclose a letter size, self-addressed, stamped envelope for your acceptance notification.
3.         Enclose a check the booth fee and table rental fee (if needed).
4.         Complete and sign the application.  The hold harmless agreement must be signed.  
5.         Applications are juried and accepted on a first come basis until which time the show is full. Once the show is full, your name will be placed on a waiting list for your category.  THE SHOW FILLS QUICKLY!  

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS:  Refunds will only be given if we receive notice of cancellation in a timely enough manner so that we can rent your space to another crafter.  No refunds will be issued after October 1, 2013.  Crafters who fail to notify us of cancellation and/or fail to set up will not be eligible for future shows.

TAXES:     Exhibitors are responsible for collecting and submitting all required taxes.  Cobb County currently collects 6% sales tax; this amount may change before show time.  Crafters are responsible for any business license fees.

SECURITY:    The church will be locked at night and the security alarm will be on.  Every precaution will be taken to secure your property.  However, we cannot be responsible or liable for any injury in your booth to any customer or exhibitor and/or, loss or damage property in your booth for any reason.  You will be responsible for any insurance coverage for your personal property and/or injury to any customer/persons in your booth.

ACCEPTABLE CATEGORIES: Acceptable categories are original art, sculpture, pottery/ceramics/porcelain, fabric, primitive country, dried/silk floral, photography, needlework, weaving, leather, handmade jewelry, paper, wood and other approved crafts.  Only handmade items made by the exhibitor will be allowed.  Only one category per booth is allowed.  Items displaying alcoholic logos, promoting alcohol use, or that are not in keeping with Methodist Doctrine are not allowed.   No commercial or buy-sell items, no food items, no manufacturers’ reps are allowed.    You will be asked to remove any non-approved items or items in poor taste from your booth.

DISPLAYS, TABLES AND CHAIRSExhibitors must bring their own display materials.   No items may be attached to the walls of the exhibit hall.  All tables must be draped to the floor on all sides.  Booths must be kept clean at all times, and must be left clean at the end of the show.  All items not displayed must be kept under your tables and out of sight.    If your craft causes damage in your space, either to the walls or the carpet, we will hold you financially responsible for the damage that occurs.  PLEASE LEAVE YOUR AREA BOOTH CLEAN!

DRESS CODE:  Please dress appropriately; slacks or jeans are fine.  NO SHORTS!
 

FOOD AND DRINKS:   Please handle food and drink discreetly or ask someone to watch your booth when you take a break. Your booth is to be staffed at all times.  SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED ON CHURCH PROPERTY.  A complete breakfast and lunch can be purchased from the church kitchen during the show.

SET-UP AND BREAKDOWN:   Set-up is from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 7. Show hours are 9-5 on Friday and from 9-4 PM on Saturday.  Your booth needs to be ready for customers by 8:30 AM.   All displays are to remain set up until the close of the show.  If you break down early, you will not be eligible for future shows.
